The Piranha swimming team features three different groups, categorized by the swimming abilities of the participants. There are swimmers who’ve been to various National Championships while there are also beginner swimmers. It doesn’t matter if you’re a world record breaking or just a fledgling swimmer, everyone is welcome.
Even though we have such a variety in swimmers, we are still have a good team spirit. The moment we get out of the water we tend to stick around at the bar or stay next to the outside pool for a bit. Heck, we even have a theme song for our team that almost anyone (mostly rival swim teams) know. We’re also known for being a social bunch that like to include as many people as we can.
We believe that, although we like to goof around outside of practice, we should have good and meaningful training sessions when we are actually in the pool. It is for this reason that we dedicate quite a bit of time and attention to the sessions that we provide. There are a variety of trainers that teach and support different skill levels and will try to help you out if you ask them to. We use feedback from the swimmers in order to tailor the sets to the swimmers needs while still keeping them manageable. In the end, we train with the NSZK (Dutch Student Swimming Competition) in mind but the actual competition is more fun oriented than performance.
For more information we welcome you to check out the Training and Competitions tabs. Do you want to train along for a day? That’s more than possible, just send a mail to firstname.lastname@example.org with any questions you have with regards to times and requirements.
