Since 2025 we have further expanded the diving branch, in addition to 'normal' diving we now also offer mermaiding and freediving. This gives us even more activities that we can do in the winter season and summer season.

 

Mermaiding

Mermaiding is swimming with a mermaid tail, many of us will know the TV program H20. Let's be honest, who wouldn't want to try this once? Luckily, you can with us. In a 'Try Mermaid' you will learn the basics of mermaiding, and you can experience what it is like to swim with a tail. These sessions take place on Tuesday or Friday evenings in the winter. As soon as the outdoor pool is open again, these sessions will take place every Friday. In a session we have a short piece of theory, after which we go into the water. Photos are often taken, so you also have a souvenir of the session. A Try Mermaid costs €15 per person. You can also follow the course if you are not a member of Piranha. Did you really like the try mermaid? Then you can continue for your Mermaid or Ocean mermaid certificate, in which you learn to swim independently and safely with a mermaid tail. Eventually you will receive an SSI certificate with which you can also swim in indoor locations such as TODI. To participate in this course, a Piranha membership is required. Freediving

How long can we stay in the water without taking a tank of compressed air with us? That is exactly what we learn with freediving. We offer 'Try freediving' courses that teach you the basics of breath-holding, and let you experience what Freediving is all about. These courses will also be given on Fridays in the outdoor pool. The session consists of a bit of theory beforehand, after which we will practice in the water. The costs for this are €15, and you can also register using the link below.

 

Do you want to improve your breath-hold with mermaiding? Or do you want to continue with freediving, then we also offer the Basic Freediver course. This is the entry-level program of Freediving, and it teaches you everything you need to safely freedive with a buddy in a pool / confined water to a depth of 5 meters. A Piranha membership is also required to participate in this course. The course dates can be found in the SSI agenda, the signup forms or in Amazone.
